15/02/2020  Downes, Sophie  Morgan X, Phillip  Sat PM  02:40 PM  Get into the habit of using your voice more. This was a chill game, but you will get other games that are more scrappy and preventative officiating may help reduce the need to call fouls. Tell the players what you saw when calling fouls.  12/03/2020
05/03/2020  Downes, Sophie  Spotswood, Nathan  THU Afternoon  06:15 PM  Reminded scorer to signal subs at half-time, possibly should've been dealt with earlier. Identify players with plaits before tip-off. Don't turn back to scoretable to point direction so as to be ready to call subs/timeout if necessary. Stay with the play on trail (eg. If players are walking ball down the court you may walk but if they jog or run, you must also jog/run), much better in the 2nd half. Excellent use of voice, verbally supportive of team that was losing to help them stay positive and keep trying. Both looked confident reffing together. Make sure to protect ball carrier (obvious push by Blue 10 in midcourt)
Easy game, not tested.

27/05/2016  Downes, Ethan  Pratt, Mitchell  FRI VJBL  20:40  Look very professional on court but find the line between calm and casual. You needed more of a presence with your partner to demand some respect!

TALK MORE EARLY AND THROUGHOUT

03/06/2019  Downes, Ethan  Spratt, Patrick  MON Night  07:00 PM  Use of voice needs to improve in order to attempt to prevent contact.   18/11/2019
03/06/2019  Downes, Ethan  Spratt, Patrick  MON Night  08:00 PM  Overall your eagerness to call fouls lead to soft calls and inconsistencies in this game. Holding the whistle and using your voice would have had a great impact and would have allowed the game to run at a much smoother pace.   18/11/2019
17/06/2019  Downes, Ethan  Pratt, Mitchell  MON Night  08:00 PM  Good voice.  18/11/2019
20/07/2015  Downes, Ethan  Couche, Casey  MON Night  09:30 PM  More preventative voice needed in order to clean the game up a bit, but not a major issue in this particular game.   09/01/2016
03/09/2016  Dooley, Rebecca  Warren, Ken  Saturday  02:45 PM  Enjoyed watching the game. I am awarding your B Grade

02/05/2015  Dobie, Braedon  Spratt, Ken  Sat Am  12:10 PM  just keep talking to the players. tell them not to foul, and then you'll find you'll have to call less. its as easy as saying 'hands off' or 'straight up'. less fouls means less work for the refs.
09/05/2015  Dobie, Braedon  Pratt, Mitchell  Sat PM  02:40 PM  Braedon today you looked professional in terms of uniform but your attitude appeared to be lacking. Remember to look interested and like you want to be at the game.

You need to use your voice more, be loud and confident. Save the whistle and use your voice "keep hands out" etc. This will make your job easier.

03/06/2015  Dobie, Braedon  Green, Prue  WED Afternoon  07:50 PM  P. Braedon needs to lift his motivation and look interested.
His body language needs to improve.
