11/11/2015  Lynch, Damon  Spratt, Patrick  WED Afternoon  07:00 PM  P. Do you have a voice box?
Talk to the players, if you can prevent a call by talking to the players, that is better than having to blow your whistle. Having said that if the foul is there call it, but if you tell a player to take their hands out and they don't, then they have no argument when you call a foul.

11/11/2015  Fowler, Matt  Spratt, Patrick  WED Afternoon  07:00 PM  P. Talking was okay in this game but would like to see a bit more, or a bit louder so you can make sure that all the players will hear you.
Siganls to the bench were much too soft in this game. If you give weak signals to the bench it looks as though you are unsure and can lead people to question calls. Be strong and sell your signals.

09/11/2015  Sumner, Tayla  Spratt, Julie  MON Night  07:50 PM  P. This was a very easy game which turned into a blow out. Concentration was maintained. Voice used appropriately. Good communication with your partner.
09/11/2015  Pratt, Nicole  Hall, Glenn  MON Night  09:30 PM  At the start of the game you were just cruising and going through the motions of the game until you spotted me, then you did your job properly and kept up with the game after this. Standing on the baseline with your hands behind your back is a bad look. We discussed in the post game how to fix this so that it doesn't look so bad to everyone watching. Trail position requires work, movement, finding and keeping the gaps and angles. Signals need to be clearer and stronger and not to signal through players to the bench
09/11/2015  Pratt, Lincoln  Hall, Glenn  MON Night  08:40 PM  No preventative voice at all during the game, some reactive voice used. A very good Unsportsmanlike foul called in last 5 minutes of the game. Signals in general were not great or clear and require a lot of work. Using high hands foul signal for all hands fouls which is not the correct procedure. This needs to be corrected
09/11/2015  Henshaw, Brad  Spratt, Julie  MON Night  07:50 PM  P. This was an easy game. Concentration was maintained. Worked well with partner. You reffed to the standard of the game.
09/11/2015  Noyes, Jesse  Hall, Glenn  MON Night  08:40 PM  Need to trust your partner when it comes to areas. Stay home and worry about your own areas. Don't over read the play. Be mindful of what could possibly happen but don't blow the whistles and make a call until contact has indeed happened. Had 1 play on a triple team where everyone thought the ball carrier was going to throw an elbow but he didn't, a gap opened up in the d and he made his way out of the triple team without any contact, you made an offensive foul call. Be aware of what could happen but don't act until it does happen.  11/12/2019
09/11/2015  Hossack, Jack  Hall, Glenn  MON Night  09:30 PM  Failing to keep up with game and run when required and looking very tired and not interested has hurt your overall appearance. No movement in trail or lead to find and maintain gaps and angles and not making the basic hand fouls and push calls to protect the shooter in A5 was also not happening. All needs improvement.
07/11/2015  Johnston, Skye  Spratt, Patrick  Sat PM  4:20 pm  P. Need to bust your butt to get to position in lead, too many times you were just jogging into lead which is causing you to miss foul calls.  19/03/2017
07/11/2015  Laity, Brenton  Spratt, Patrick  Sat PM  4:20 pm  P. Use your voice and talk to the players, be preventative so you don't have to use your whistle.
A couple of times you were a bit slow down the court in lead, run hard and get there, set yourself and then referee, we don't like to referee on the run.

07/11/2015  Canaider, Liam  Spratt, Julie  Sat Am  10:30 AM  P. I only heard you use your voice once during the game. When reffing kids of this age some preventative talk from the refs is gold. Also when on the baseline in lead be careful not to ballwatch. There were a number of times No 7 for Magic was allowed to block the key from the cutters and the opposition ended up on the floor. He continually moved into the path of the cutters when he saw them running in from area 4 to 5. You need to be watching off the ball for these type of incidents. Communication with the players. "Let him through" and maybe a quick explanation at the appropriate time. Otherwise the call needed to be an off the ball push foul. Luckily the coach was inexperienced and did not realise what was happening. Keep an eye on the players in the key you let too much contact go. No hands on the shooter at all. Do not go across on the baseline too early as you missed a charge call. You got straight lined and had other players in your line of sight therefore you called a block on the defence. When counting the key do not count as if you are counting the back court. This count is unseen. Whether you tap your leg or count using your fingers whatever works for you. You worked well with your partner. Keep working to improve and you will do very well.  27/05/2016
07/11/2015  Gaudion, Brent  Spratt, Julie  Sat Am  10:30 AM  P. HAIR!!!!! Stop touching your hair! You moved your hair out of your eyes 7 times. Please tie it back or use bobby pins. The choice is yours. If you are busy with your hair then you are not fully concentrating on the game. You missed a few calls at the start but then seemed to settle. Not sure if it was the nerves of being evaluated but you cant let that affect you. You need to be hitting the mark from the start. I couldn't hear you on court. Use preventative talk especially at this age. On the baseline in lead. Eyes Down. You kept watching the shot. This is trails job. You are to watch the players. This where I saw a lot of contact occur. You need to be on top of this. Be confident and keep trying you will do well.  03/10/2018

07/11/2015  Witt, Kristen  Pratt, Mitchell  Sat Am  11:20 AM  P. Need to talk to the Defence more, use the voice, tell them to play good D.

You have a great big loud voice so use it, great when you call to the bench.
