24/11/2015  Crosby, Connor  Punton , Gaye  TUE Night  07:00 PM  P. Again positioning on the base needs to improve. Don't back off on a shot for goal, as when there's a turnover you are already near the centre line and have to run back to 3 point line
21/11/2015  Earl, Harry  Spratt, Julie  Sat Am  09:10 AM  P. Voice you need to talk to the kids. There was a lot of contact under the basket which was let go to start with. By talking using preventative phrases such as "Hands Off, Hands Out, Be straight, Play good D" this will help you feel part of the game. Smile and relax. You made the right calls but you look rigid and nervous. If you look like you are enjoying what you are doing this will help your confidence and will stop coaches wanting to question you. First half you didnt call much and the second half you went out and set the standard. This caused a bit of noise from the parents and coaches, you need to do this from tip off and coaches realise that their teams have to play properly. Set the standard early and teams adjust quickly. You have potential keep working at it and you will make it to B grade.  28/05/2017
21/11/2015  Allsopp, Ryan  Spratt, Julie  Sat Am  09:10 AM  P. You need to talk more to the kids. Talk them out of fouls. You were better in the second half. You spoke t them and told them what they were doing wrong. This should have happened from the beginning. It would have been a different game. make your signals to the bench crisper. Dont be wishy washy make your signals strong. Come to a stop when signalling to the bench. Show confidence. Enjoy being on court. Watch the contact under the basket. Again this improved in the second half.
20/11/2015  Downes, Ethan  Pratt, Mitchell  FRI VJBL  21:40  P. Looked the part mate, well done  21/02/2017
20/11/2015  Goldsmith, Todd  Geritz, Jason  FRI Afternoon  05:45 PM  Greater communication to the players throughout the game will help your interaction.
20/11/2015  Goldsmith, Todd  Geritz, Jason  FRI Afternoon  04:35 PM  Ensure the contact is called as a foul, this is easy to maintain the consistency throughout the game.   02/12/2015
20/11/2015  Jackson, Mitch  Geritz, Jason  FRI Afternoon  05:10 PM  Use your voice to communicate with the players.
20/11/2015  Rigby, Ben  Geritz, Jason  FRI Afternoon  05:45 PM  Good explanations to the players after a foul was called. Strong use of voice throughout the game to enable the game to flow.
20/11/2015  Delahoy, Kyle  Geritz, Jason  FRI Afternoon  05:10 PM  Covered the easy game well with partner. The biggest learning was to protect and take off an injured player when necessary.
20/11/2015  West, Rachel  Geritz, Jason  FRI Afternoon  04:35 PM  This was an easy game where the referee was not challenged.
20/11/2015  Spicer , Nick  Pratt, Mitchell  FRI VJBL  21:40  P. Looked the part, except for the colored whistle ;)  23/03/2018
17/11/2015  Proctor, Andrew  Spratt, Patrick  TUE Night  07:00 PM  P. Use of voice was good in this game and the players seemed to respond well. Again would have liked to see it called a bit more tightly at the start as I think we were lucky with these two teams that nothing happened.  16/11/2019
17/11/2015  Fowler, Matt  Spratt, Patrick  TUE Night  07:00 PM  P. Need to use our voice more especially when refereeing seniors. Make sure that we are moving in both lead and trail so that we can see the gap and make the call.  06/05/2016
14/11/2015  Fraser, Jonathan  Spratt, Patrick  Sat PM  02:40 PM  P. Would have liked to have seen a bit more talking out there. Not much preventative officiating in this game and I believe if there was some more than it would have resulted in a cleaner game.
14/11/2015  Howes, Dylan  Spratt, Julie  Sat Am  08:50 AM  As a C grade referee Dylan officiated well. However to progress to B grade Dylan needs encouragement to work hard on a number of areas.
1. Hand signals need to be slower to the bench, stop when calling to the bench.
2. At no time did you talk to the players, you could have talked this age group out of a number of fouls.
3. Watch the soft call in the back court if it doesn't affect the dribbler.
4. Never signal across your body - use your other arm
5. Use the correct hands signal when the hands foul is for a shooting foul.
6. From lead on the baseline once you have called the foul and play is halted hustle around the key to call to the score bench.
You and Jordan reffed well for this age group but you need to use your voice. It helps the kids and also shows that you are interested in the game.

14/11/2015  Jackson, Mitch  Spratt, Patrick  Sat PM  02:40 PM  P. Need to use your voice when refereeing, talking to the players and telling them to keep there hands out is going to keep there hands out and then if they do put them in they have no where to go.
14/11/2015  Smark, Jordan  Spratt, Julie  Sat Am  08:50 AM  As a C grade referee Jordan reffed well. To help you to progress to B grade you need to work on a number of things. These may seem trivial but they are very important.
1. raise you arm above your head when you call a foul
2. Stop and stand still - look at the scorebench and make your signals crisper
3. Never signal across your body.
4. Soft calls in the back court on the dribbler. If the foul isn't going to disrupt the dribbler hold the call and say play on. If its a hard foul whereby the dribbler stumbles, looses possession call the foul. At this age we are not out there to foul the kids off the court. Especially when the game is relatively friendly, this is how your voice helps.
5. At no time did you talk to the players, you could have talked this age group out of a number of fouls.
Talking to the players helps them play better and also shows that you are interested in the game.

14/11/2015  Peacock, Brooke  Spicer, Barry  Sat Am  11:40 AM  P. Brooke's appearance is great. Her uniform was spot on. She has no problem with fitness or court coverage. Stronger assertive use of voice will help to ensure players/coaches know she is confident. Identifying legal defence was very good.
Get out of train lines in trail transition.
Blow whistle on lead baseline before handing player the ball.
Good sprint/rest when appropriate after 5 games conserving energy.
13/06/2016
14/11/2015  DeGoumois, Mollie  Spicer, Barry  Sat Am  11:40 AM  P. As a referee with a quiet voice Mollie needs to develop her voice to use preventative officiating. If she can talk players out of fouling, thats less she will need to call and game will flow.
Slow down signal sequence to score table.
Identify pivot foot to penalise travel violations.
When administering free throws, step in and only say the number of free throws coming, no other irrelevant information.
